FAQ:

When is the 2020 National Convention?

Vice President Biden asked for the convention to be moved from July, because of the concerns about COVID-19. The 20202 Democratic Convention is planned for the week of August 17, 2020 in beautiful Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Do I have to vote for the candidate’s representative that I voted for in the presidential preference primary?  No.

May I vote for delegates for both Mr. Biden and Mr. Sanders?
You will only be able to select one candidate.

How many delegates may I voter for?
Each of the presidential candidates have been allocated delegates based on the percentage of the vote they received in each Congressional district in the March 17 Presidential Preference Primary. You can see the delegate allocations here. Based on these allocations, your ballot will explain how many delegates you can vote for. Please vote for the entire number suggested or your ballot will be throw out!

I have a few more questions. Where can I find more information?

Why Should You Vote for a Delegate? A Personal Story from a Former National Delegate.

By Jeff Wilkinson

First and foremost, this is your opportunity to reward those passionate volunteers who worked so hard to support these presidential candidates. They knocked on doors, made phone calls, helped get out the vote and donated funds, BUT most of all, donated their time and energy for “the cause.”

Equally important, delegates to the national convention will have the chance to participate in discussions of the issues and policies that will be negotiated and agreed to for the 2020 Democratic platform. These issues reflect the values and ideals of the Democratic Party, such as immigration reform, environmental protection, common sense gun laws, reproductive rights for women, healthcare, national defense, and more.

These delegates will represent you and our local Democratic Party to other like minded Floridians and Democrats across this great country. They will take your (our) message to not just other Delegates but Democratic elected officials from across the country. They will have opportunities, both planned and chance encounters, to influence key leaders and emerging leaders of this great party.

Your delegates will have the opportunity to meet, share information and learn from Democrats across the country. They will then bring this new knowledge and support network back to Central Florida to share with us as we work to Turn Florida Blue - up and down the ballot.
