Our Mission

Our mission is to elect candidates who support the core values of the Democratic Party at all levels of government by engaging, educating, and inspiring the voters in Seminole County.

About Us

The Seminole County Democratic Party (SemDems) is the Seminole County branch of the Florida Democratic Party (FDP). The official name of the organization is the Seminole County Democratic Executive Committee (SCDEC).

As an organization, we seek to elect Democrats to local, state, and federal offices through neighborhood organizing, party building, and candidate promotion. The SemDems are dedicated to expanding the Democratic electorate and electing Democratic candidates in Seminole County, Florida. We bring our community together to stand up for Democratic ideals of social, racial, economic, and environmental justice.

The DEC is an elected body comprised of members, called Precinct Captains, who act as neighborhood organizers to register voters and increase voter turnout and engagement in their precincts. There are 80 precincts in Seminole County. Each Precinct has two to four Precinct Captains depending on the quantity of Democrats in the precinct. Half are men, half are women.

We encourage you to volunteer and set up a recurring donation to make an immediate impact. Donations of both time and money are greatly appreciated.

Our Bylaws

We follow Roberts Rules of Order. For further logistical information about our organization, read the Seminole County Democratic Executive Committee Bylaws and the Florida Democratic Party Bylaws.
