Official Duties of a Precinct Captain
- Be the precinct leader
- Identify Democrats in your precinct
- Recruit area volunteers
- Register Democrats in your precinct
- Get Democrats (and non-partisan voters) out to vote in your precinct
- Collect petitions for candidates and amendments
- Attend SemDems Monthly Meetings – Precinct captains are voting members!
- Join a committee or caucus or volunteer in another capacity

Ready to become a Precinct Captain? Follow these easy steps!
- You must be a Democrat registered to vote in Seminole County.
- Review: What is a Precinct Captain? for more information.
- Precinct captains must attend SemDems General Meetings regularly. We meet at 7 p.m. on the second Thursday of the month.
- Apply today! Application form.
- We will confirm that there is an opening in your precinct and if you qualify.
- Get voted in by existing members at an upcoming General Meeting, and you're set!
- Take some easy training classes to get you started!
