Dr. Lee Mangold, Democratic candidate for Florida House District 28, has qualified for the 2020 ballot by petition as of 12/10/2019. Mangold is the first Democratic legislative candidate out of 235 to qualify, marking a significant milestone for both the campaign and Seminole County.

To qualify, the Mangold campaign had to collect at least 1,172 valid individual signatures within District 28. While candidates can also qualify by paying a fee, the Mangold campaign decided to make connecting with voters a priority. Collecting petitions across the entire district, a team of over 60 volunteers collected a total of 1,188 signatures – a testament to the power of grassroots outreach.

“To get on the ballot, candidates have the choice of either paying a large fee to the state or talking to their voters. Engaging the community in conversation during the ballot petition process – and beyond – is a humbling experience that can’t be substituted. I am beyond grateful to the dozens of volunteers who helped make this possible. “

With this important goal accomplished, the campaign will continue to focus on its mission of delivering leadership that works for the people of Florida, Mangold said.

“Overcoming twenty years of neglect from Tallahassee will be hard work. But that hard work starts by electing representatives who aren’t bought-and-sold by special interest groups and will stand up for all of us, not just a select privileged few!”
