Seminole County Democratic Party

Have you recently replaced your license because it got lost, you moved, or your license was about to expire? If you have renewed or replaced your driver’s license since July 31, 2024, your license number is different now. And you need to update your Voter Record!

Since the law was passed, Florida driver’s licenses have at least four randomly generated digits included in the license number. (The change was to improve security because the previous numbering system involved easy-to-guess factors such as your name and date of birth.) It also means your new license will NOT match the old number from your prior license on your voting record.

To update your voter record, visit RegistertoVoteFlorida.gov to make changes. For a quick preview, see the screenshots shown below.

Once on the site, click the Register or Update button where the arrow is pointing:

RegistertoVoteFlorida.gov

Under the Reason for Application, choose the option to Record Update/Change (see below):

Reason for Application

Make sure to fill in and/or update all information with a red asterisk, including your Florida DL (Driver’s License) number or Florida ID card number and the date your license was issued as shown in the image below:

Florida DL or Florida ID card number (DLN)

Once your Voter Record is updated, you’ll be ready for the August 18th Primary and the General Election in the fall. You may need to update other entities such as insurance companies, financial institutions, employers, etc.
