WE DID IT, Seminole County!
In our Congressional District 7, which consists of Seminole County and parts of Southern Volusia County, we were required to collect 34,859 petition signatures from Florida voters to help get an amendment on the Nov 2024 ballot to protect abortion rights… an amendment Florida voters will have a chance to vote “YES” on to make it a state law .
We recently learned that we reached our district’s goal in collecting all of those petitions before the Dec 31, 2023 deadline!
Awesome job, Seminole and Volusia! We know we couldn’t do it without the help of all the Democrats, NPAs, even many Republicans, and other party affiliates that believe in personal freedom to keep these kinds of decisions between the pregnant person, their family, and healthcare provider… so thank you all!!!
The next step is to wait. The organization leading this petition drive is confident that they have enough valid signatures (almost 900,000 of them) to get the amendment on the Nov 2024 ballot. Stay tuned!
