A Turning Point for Voting Rights!

With the federal court ruling on May 24, those with past felonies now have a clear path to register and vote, even if they owe fees, fines, or restitution. Seminole County needs to move quickly to ensure that all of our residents will receive the knowledge they need to register and vote in 2020.

This forum will discuss the details of the ruling and the process of registering voters now. Guest speakers will be announced as they are confirmed.

Do you have specific questions about the new ruling? You are welcome to submit them in advance to info@deb4elections.com. Questions will also be accepted during the meeting.

You can read the entire ruling for yourself with downloads from the ACLU Florida website. Scroll to the bottom of the page for the downloads. (Hint: The conclusion starting on page 118 is the key part).

Be sure to look at the documents titled "Request for Advisory Opinion" and "Standards for Governing Eligibility." These are the forms voters use to ask how much money they owe and the instructions for the public on voting eligibility for those with felonies.
