Federal Candidates

Debbie Mucarsel-Powell Headshot U.S. Senate Florida

Debbie Mucarsel-Powell for U.S. Senate

Debbie Mucarsel-Powell came to the U.S. from South America at a young age with her mom and sisters, fleeing violence and searching for a better life. While her mother worked double shifts as a home healthcare provider, Debbie worked at a doughnut shop to help her family make ends meet. When Debbie was 24, she tragically lost her father to gun violence, and she has been a lifelong advocate for reducing crime and keeping guns out of the hands of dangerous criminals.

NOW, DEBBIE IS RUNNING FOR THE U.S. SENATE BECAUSE OUR DEMOCRACY, OUR ECONOMY AND OUR RIGHTS ARE ALL ON THE LINE — AND SENATOR RICK SCOTT HAS FAILED FLORIDIANS. DEBBIE IS STANDING UP TO SAY: NO MÁS.

Seminole County Democratic Party

Jennifer Adams for U.S. House District 7

Born and raised in Central Florida, Jennifer is giving back to the community that helped her grow and persevere, first as a small business owner, an advocate for domestic violence survivors and a community leader, and now as a candidate for Florida’s 7th Congressional District where she will fight to ensure everyone can attain the American Dream. Having survived domestic abuse and the devastation it wreaks on victims and their families, Jennifer knows what it is to overcome adversity and not only survive, but thrive. Jennifer also has more than 15 years of experience in community engagement, legislative policymaking and conflict resolution, with a forward-thinking approach that emphasizes partnerships and collaboration to identify successful solutions to complex challenges.

StateCandidates

Kelley Diona Miller For Florida House DIstrict 36

Kelley Diona Miller for FL State House District 36

Kelley Diona spends every day advocating for others and she's running for Florida State House because we need a people's advocate fighting for our interests in Tallahassee. Kelley Diona is running to tackle our homeowner's insurance crisis, protect reproductive and voter rights, fight the affordability crisis, and take common sense approaches to tackle gun laws, mental health, and substance abuse challenges in Florida. Kelley Diona knows all Floridians are entitled to the freedom to be healthy, prosperous, and safe. Kelley Diona has lived in the Sanford/Lake Mary area since 2009. She is the proud mom to her 12-year-old son Keagan Elias.

NateDouglas

Nate Douglas for FL State House District 37

Nate Douglas was the youngest elected official in Orange County history, and a first-generation American, and he knows how foundational public service is to a strong State and Country. Now he's running for Florida House and he knows that here in our district, we need to grow our economy by allowing our small businesses to compete and our workers to come home with a full paycheck. We need to develop safe communities where our children can play and our environment can thrive. We deserve a strong voice to self govern and pass laws which suit our community best, rather than allowing the few to strip away our rights and our freedoms to choose.

Seminole County Democratic Party

Sarah’s career has been driven by her commitment to social change and finding joy in hard work and bettering the communities around her. Her patriotism and sense of public duty is founded on the service of her maternal grandfather, Grady Biby, who served aboard Naval nuclear submarines for 20 years before being elected to the Kalamazoo County Commission.

MarshaSummersill

Marsha Summersill for FL State House District 39

Meet Marsha Summersill, candidate for State House District 39, a lifelong advocate for Florida’s families and children. Born and raised in Apopka, Marsha’s career spans from competitive martial arts to serving as an investigator, a forensic interviewer, and an advocate for children and victims of abuse with DCF, the Child Protection Team, and Children’s Legal Services for 18 years. Marsha continues her advocacy for families in her legal practice. Inspired by the tragic loss of her brother due to Florida’s flawed healthcare system, Marsha is determined to fight for quality accessible healthcare and address critical shortages in the industry. With a focus on protecting reproductive rights and tackling the property insurance crisis, Marsha will prioritize the needs of Floridians over corporate interests in Tallahassee.

She has a hunger to embrace new learning opportunities, and is driven to come full circle in her career by returning to a government role.

Sarah Winter Springs Headshot

Sarah Baker for Winter Springs City Commission, District 3

When Sarah Baker moved to Winter Springs she saw it's beauty and potential.  As she's planted roots as a resident, her love and appreciation for the City has continued to grow. Unfortunately with our current City infrastructure, my property and the properties around us are at a constant risk from raw sewage and flooding. Roads, bridges, fire hydrants, and other key components have been neglected. Sarah loves the parks and amenities but has the foresight and funds to maintain what we build and make them accessible and usable for all residents, before adding more. As an elected commissioner, addressing these issues and many others would be paramount to enhancing the quality of life for all Winter Springs residents.
