It is with a heavy heart that we share the sudden passing of Jeff Wilkinson. Jeff was a pillar in our community, holding many titles over the years within the Seminole County Democratic Party - most notably as our longtime County Party Chair and our current State Committeeman.
Jeff served as the Chair of the Democratic Executive Committee (DEC) from 2012-2017 and was well known for his strategic insights, dedication to the cause, and his generosity. Many of us also had the pleasure on numerous occasions to experience Jeff’s skill as a gourmet chef, and his Chili was the stuff of legends.
Jeff attended West Point and retired from a career in the Army as a Lt. Colonel. He had a Ph.D in Economics, and served as the Chief Scientist and Chief Technology Officer for MYMIC, and more recently worked for CAE as Director of Capture, Joint Operations and Innovation.
He attended the Democratic National Convention as a delegate in 2012 and was very active in the Democratic Veteran’s Caucus, as well as a variety of other Democratic Committees and Clubs.
For those of you who attended the FDP convention just this last weekend, you likely got to spend some quality time with Jeff - and we know that this is hard to absorb.
The Democratic Party has lost a dear friend and tireless, fearless, and generous member, and we will miss him greatly.
Please keep his wife, Rebecca, and his daughter, Heather, in your thoughts.
MILITARY CEREMONY
Jeff will be buried at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, Florida on Friday, November 17, in a military ceremony. It will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the pavilion and conclude sharply at 10:00 a.m. Attendees who would like to gather afterwards for coffee or even breakfast are welcome to meet in Titusville on the front porch at Cracker Barrel; 4745 Helen Hauser Blvd.
