Urgent Action Needed-Stop Trump’s Cronies From Gutting The EPA

On April 13, the EPA published a Federal Register Notice asking for comments on “Enforcing the Regulatory Reform Agenda,” per President Trump’s Executive Order (EO) 13777.  This executive order directs federal agencies to establish a Regulatory Reform Task Force to evaluate existing regulations and “make recommendations to the agency head regarding their repeal, replacement, or modification.”

The administration’s agenda is to gut the EPA by doing the following:

  1. Rolling back environmental protections for clean air and water.
  2. Reducing fuel emission requirements for cars.
  3. Drilling and fracking in National Parks, off of the Atlantic coast, in the Gulf of Mexico, and in the Arctic.
  4. Removing renewable energy incentives in support of coal and fracked gas pipelines.

But you can help stop it.

The EPA is asking for comments from the public to inform the Task Force’s evaluation of existing regulations and requests that commenters be as specific as possible, include any supporting data or other information such as cost information, provide a Federal Register (FR) or Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) citation when referencing a specific regulation, and provide specific suggestions regarding repeal, replacement or modification.

This is urgent! We ask each of you to take just a few minutes to tell the EPA why keeping these regulations are important to Seminole County and the State of Florida. The comment period ends May 15, 2017.
