Labor Day Weekend Picnic Support Needed

Organizers are looking for volunteers and support for the SemDems’ Labor Day Weekend Solidarity Picnic, 11 am to 3 pm, Saturday, September 2, 2017 in the pavilion next to the Splash Pad at Fort Mellon Park, 900 East 1st St., Sanford.

Fort Mellon Park in Sanford

“We are expecting about 100 attendees, members of organized labor in Seminole County and their families and official members of the SemDems and their families,” says Labor Outreach Committee Chair Jay Jurie. “We need volunteer assistance to help with set-up, serving, and clean-up.”

You can also help with in-kind donations of ‘picnic stuff’ such as: baked beans (homemade or canned); condiments (mustard, ketchup, relish); coolers/bags of ice; large bottles of soda; large bottles of sweet and unsweet ice tea; large bottles of water; potato chips, vegetable or fruit platters, or fresh fruit, including “nonperishable” fruits such as apples, grapes, oranges, and melon; charcoal/lighter fluid and, of course, cash (checks preferred).

If you are willing and able to volunteer or donate please contact Steve Barnes at 407-417-1628 or Jay Jurie at 407-323-5247, or email them at labor@semdems.com.
